Tripods are an important accessory that should have any serious photographer. This is because a tripod of immense value in stabilizing the camera. In most cases we don’t recognize the importance of stabilizing the camera, this is because most of us shoot in bright daylight or any to deal with Flash. But there are many conditions where we under low light conditions like, who is shooting at dusk or indoors. It can shoot without Flash may be required. It is in these circumstances, a tripod is necessary.
But how does not use a tripod from our photos?
In low light, you or the camera depending on whether you prefer the manual or automatic mode) must select a long exposure time, somewhere in the field of ? or ? or 1/8 sec. These values seem to be long enough for you, but when you consider that the normal shooting in bright daylight of 1 / 250 or more has a shutter, this is a very long exposure time. Now, if we work at slow shutter speeds and then the shutter is open so much longer. So do any vibration or instability of the camera a camera shake or blur. This leads to soften, Fuzzy images. Once on 1 / 15 or more, increase the shutter speed even the slightest shake can blur photo. Even the simple act who press the shutter button can shake the camera and lead to cover.
It is therefore necessary to use a tripod. Tripods are different types. There is this huge solid tripods that can be used for each task, but these are usually bulky and are used for static photo shoots. So travel weight purposes I use either a light a monopod or Pocket tripod. Monopods is described later. Let us now talk Pocket tripods.
Pocket tripods are small and light weight and can be easily carried in your backpack or camera bag. I have this tripod is so small that I can carry it in my camera bag, although it isn’t very stable. There are many manufacturers of tripods that produce many different tripods, but depending on what you buy check the following before buying:
1. The head of the stand: this is the most important part of the tripod. It is the part where adds your camera, so make sure it fits well and stable. Never compromise on this issue.
2. Size: If you read this article you are interested in probably, a Pocket tripod. Look at the size of the stand and see if it fits in your pocket. If not it not much good to buy it, and consider alternatives, that your camera bag to fit.
3. And finally have a look at the build of the stand. You come across many tripods in the market, which are cheap, but you lack the build quality. Of course you will not find to build the same quality as a real tripod, but it can not as poor as well.
This was a brief description of the Pocket tripods. I discuss travel tripods in my next article.
